In soft defense of Pharaoh’s Thoth - Thoth is sometimes depicted as a baboon, which I believe is the mask that he uses in this form, and there was one reference to him having domain over time.
….HOWEVER, he is most commonly depicted with the head of an Ibis, so going the baboon route for such a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo is strange, and his domain over time is the measurement of it. Being the Scribe of the Underworld is his most famous role so to dig through all the things he resides over and decide to pick Time is just as weird as the baboon thing.
