As snowflakes drifted down onto the base and the titans were for once, not to be seen that day, the scouts sat together in a room with a burning fire, laughing and drinking wine and talking.
Levi sat with his arm around Eren, Eren pressed against his chest, able to hear his superior’s heartbeat through his casual clothes. Everyone knew about them now and even better, they had allowed it, so Levi wouldn’t be demoted or fired. Only one person objected to the relationship and she sat next to Eren, pretending that he wasn’t lying on Levi.
Good for Armin too, because he had discovered new love with Jean and was finally able to move on from Eren, he too was happily tucked under the wing of Jean, all old drama forgotten.
Eren edged a gift closer to Mikasa, “It’s a gift.” He told her with a warmish smile, they had mostly made up. He couldn’t hate her, even if she disagreed with his relationship. She tentatively tore the wrapping paper and took out the gift, everyone around was watching. The fluffy fabric fell onto her lap and she awed at it immediately, “Eren this is lovely.” She smiled, it was a blue scarf, almost identical to the one she always donned around her neck, today it was absent, so she wrapped this one around instead.
“I’m glad you like it.” He smiled back.
“Eren.” Levi said softly, for once not referring to him as brat, he glanced up curiously. “Here, open this.” Levi thrust a package in his hands, a small silver box, everyone around him was too busy talking, so the moment was personal. He looked inside and then his mouth dropped. “Is this…”
“It’s a promise ring.” Levi rushed, “It means, I want to stay with you forever. No matter what.” The words sounded odd coming from his usually non-amorous voice. “I- Levi.” Eren was shocked for words, it was a perfect silver band, just small enough for his finger.
Levi lifted it from the box and took Eren’s hand into his, he slid the ring in carefully and then watched as Eren went all googly eyes on it. “Obviously it doesn’t mean we have to get married, I just want you to know that I’m um… Serious and stuff.” Levi awkwardly phrased.
“I love it.” Eren declared. “And I love you Levi.” He pressed his lips onto Levi’s, enjoying the surprise of the older man as he tasted the wine that he’d been drinking.
Suddenly everyone around took a great interest and looked at the shiny ring on his finger, Mikasa scowled but bit her tongue and Eren was happy to show them proudly.
After the hype, Levi hissed into his ear, “I’ve always hated big groups of people. How about we have our own celebration in my room.”
Eren smirked, “And let me guess…” He said a little louder.
“…that’s an order.” Levi nodded, finishing his sentence.

We’ve reached the end! 12 chapters later. I think I just about concluded everything in this series, Armin ends up with Jean, Mikasa gets another scarf, Eren ends up with Levi… That just about ticks every box. Honestly this has been such an angsty journey, I posted Chapter One in late February and it’s June now, honestly if you’re reading this you’re sitting in my blood, sweat and tears because it’s taken so long just to deliver these 12 chapters. This started off as a one shot, never to be seen again, but because you guys seemed to request and request again for this I’ve kept it going and this is the biggest commitment I’ve ever made [tbh]. I’ve really appreciated the likes and reblogs, 460 of you were crazy enough to put my work on your blog. [I am not responsible for loss of followers because of this or responsible for anyone hospitalised after falling upon this monstrosity of a series.]
